Gout & Saveurs Lakay
The immediate and overwhelming success of Goût & Saveurs Lakay, which translates to the Food & Spirits Festival, has solidified its reputation among both residents of Port-au-Prince and the many families and individuals who choose to spend a few blissful days here at Le Plaza Hotel Haiti. This huge culinary event celebrates its sixth year this September and will run between the 16th through the 19th, on behalf of renowned chef Stephan Berrouet Durand and the Haitian Tourism Association.
How appropriate is it that September has since been designated Haiti Gastronomy Month! Every year Haitian and international chefs are invited back to help serve up a variety of authentic cuisine intended to showcase the region’s unique flavors. So, tie on your best bib and bring a hearty appetite for what is said to be one of the most eagerly anticipated events in the entire Caribbean. Expect freshly prepared ingredients only found here and discover the country’s rich history at Goût & Saveurs Lakay.Read other posts

A very pleasant atmosphere and helpful staff greeted me upon arrival. Vladimir, who quickly handled my special requests, was especially helpful. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel for all travelers, whether on business or vacation.

“Great Haitian atmosphere”
We really enjoyed this property. The staff was very friendly and even went out of their way to accommodate us, by letting us check in early after flying all night. The atmosphere was very laid back just as most Haitians are.

Located off the central town square it has good security and is the obvious expat place to stay. Nice garden breakfast area near a well received pool. Tranquil after the huddle and bustle outside. Rooms are clean, beds are very comfortable and the hot showers a blessing.
